Mougnir Boumedjane

Mougnir Boumedjane is a Podiatrist specialising in Sports Podiatry and Gait Analysis.

He graduated in Podiatry & Chiropody from the French School of Podiatry and Physiotherapy in Paris in 1998, before pursuing a clinical and academic career in Sport Podiatry, Biomechanics and Posturology.

Mougnir holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Theory of Podiatric Surgery with Merit from Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh and is also certified in Local Anaesthesia and Nail surgery from Glasgow Caledonian University.

His other qualifications include:

• Certificate in Sport Podiatry 
• Certificate in Sport and Physiology 
• Diploma in Posturology 
• Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Ultrasound 
• Postgraduate Certificate in Pharmacology as an Independent Supplementary Prescriber

Mougnir’s passion for Podiatry began when he was 16. During his time training as an elite fencer, he sprained his ankle, being referred to France’s only Sports Podiatrist. This inspired him to pursue a career in Sports and Podiatry.

He has continued to combine these passions, consulting for Sport-Akileïne, New Balance and Adidas. He has also lectured on Fencing and Gait Analysis at the Student Olympic Games in Seoul and designed manufactured orthotics, and worked as a consultant to the French water-skiing team – being a keen water skier himself.

Mougnir also works in teaching, inspiring others to become Podiatrists as a senior lecturer in Sport Podiatry at the University of Medicine Paris 13 and at the University of Medical and Health Sciences of Aix-Marseille.

His extensive experience has resulted in a number of professional memberships and affiliations:

• Fellow of the Faculty of Podiatric Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Glasgow 
• Member of the Royal College of Podiatry 
• Member of the British Medical Ultrasound Society

Mougnir has developed a strong sense of empathy for his patients, having worked all over the world, with patients from all backgrounds. He is qualified to assess and treat all postural, balance and lower limb concerns.

Still a keen sportsman, Mougnir trains in Triathlon, regularly goes surfing, and is also an elite fencing coach at Escrime Academy in London having qualified as Fencing Instructor in 1992.
