What is Septorhinoplasty?

Septorhinoplasty is a surgical procedure which improves the functionality and aesthetics of the nose. As well as enhancing the shape, size and contours of the nose through Rhinoplasty surgery, your surgeon will also carry out a Septoplasty to realign a deviated septum which addresses functional concerns such as breathing difficulties and snoring.

Septorhinoplasty Before and After

During your consultation, your surgeon will show you a range of Septoplasty before and after photos so you can compare how your results may appear. This is important so you can have a good understanding of the results that are possible for you, based on your concerns. Your surgeon will show you photos of previous patients who had similar concerns and desired results to you can make a close comparison.

It is important to remember that a certain amount of Septorhinoplasty surgery is carried out on the internal structures of the nose and therefore isn't visible. The before and after images you are shown will show you the results of the aesthetic element of the surgery.

How Does Septorhinoplasty differ from other Rhinoplasty procedures?

Unlike other Rhinoplasty procedures, Septo rhinoplasty is a fully comprehensive technique which addresses both functional and aesthetic concerns. It is often suited to patients who have experienced trauma or injury to their nose, which has affected the nose’s appearance as well as causing breathing difficulties. Although Septoplasty and Rhinoplasty can be performed as two separate surgeries, this may not be as effective as combining the procedures to ensure both the aesthetic work and the functional work complement each other.

Septorhinoplasty London is carried out as an open Rhinoplasty procedure as the internal structures of the nose have to be operated on as part of the surgery. Your consultant will discuss how this may affect your recovery and scarring, and they will show you where they will make the incisions to ensure they are as discrete as possible.

What Are the Risks of Septorhinoplasty?
