Skin Boosters are an innovative range of injectable skin treatments formulated to improve the tone, texture and health of the skin, while also targeting common early signs of ageing.
Skin Boosters are becoming increasingly popular due to their natural-looking results and versatility. While two or three traditional injectables may be required to achieve a full face rejuvenation, for some patients, only one sort of Skin Booster may be required to target multiple concerns. Their focus, not only on improving cosmetic concerns, but also enhancing overall skin health is also appealing for many patients.
Skin Boosters are often suited to individuals who are new to cosmetic injectable treatments, who are looking for a natural result, and who don’t have severe signs of ageing. Skin Booster injections can also be combined with other treatments and procedures to enhance the final result.
Get in touchThere are several types of Skin Boosters, each working differently depending on the conditions they are formulated to treat and the results they achieve. Unlike other injectable treatments, Skin Boosters are usually bioavailable, meaning they are typically made from and work with the skin's natural building blocks. By working with the skin in a natural way, they usually create a more natural result. They also aren’t associated with some of the potential downsides of other injectable treatments such as an unnatural appearance or migration.
Generally speaking, Skin Boosters either work by stimulating natural collagen and elastin production or increasing Hyaluronic Acid levels. Collagen and elastin are two vital proteins which support the skin’s natural integrity, maintaining a smooth and firm texture. Hyaluronic Acid is a natural humectant which maintains water levels within the skin, for youthful volume, elasticity and tone. As we age, the production of these skin components slows down, resulting in common signs of ageing such as fine lines, laxity and skin texture.
Your consultant will explain the most suitable Skin Boosters to treat your concerns and how they each work during your initial appointment.

Injectable Skin Boosters is a wide-reaching term including several treatment options depending on your personal concerns and desired results.
Hyaluronic Acid is a natural substance found throughout the body, in the eyes, joints and skin. It can hold over 1,000 times its own weight in water, providing cushioning, lubrication and volume.
Skin Boosters based on Hyaluronic Acid are formulated with a very thin, watery texture allowing them to spread effectively throughout the skin. This allows the skin to attract water resulting in a subtle plumping affect. Unlike Dermal Fillers based on Hyaluronic Acid, HA Skin Boosters aren’t designed to sculpt, but increase skin hydration, improving skin health.
Polynucleotides are the chains which make up DNA. These fragmented DNA molecules interact directly with the Fibroblast cells in the skin, encouraging collagen and elastin production, promoting tissue regeneration and improving microcirculation.
Poly-L-Lactic Acid is a biostimulator, which encourages the production of collagen by the body’s own cells. Unlike other Dermal Filler options, it doesn’t produce immediate results, which appear as the body produces more collagen. Poly-L-Lactic Acid Skin Boosters can be used in the face, but also other areas such as the buttocks for a volumised and smooth appearance.
Traditional injectable treatments such as Dermal Fillers and Anti-Wrinkle Injections are formulated to create an immediate cosmetic result for the skin. Although they often contain ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid which are naturally found in the skin, they aren’t designed to work naturally within the skin as Skin Boosters do.
Rather than enhancing overall skin health and stimulating the production of the skin’s natural components, traditional injectable treatments act by adding extra volume with external materials, or changing the way the underlying muscles function. Some people feel this has drawbacks such as an unnatural result, and also has a risk of complications such as migration, which may require further treatment.
Skin Boosters are an effective and versatile treatment for many patients with a range of concerns and desired outcomes:
What is Skin Booster Treatment?
Skin Booster Treatment is a cosmetic injectable treatment which contains ingredients that naturally encourage collagen and elastin production and skin hydration. Unlike other injectable options, the ingredients work with the natural components of the skin to enhance overall skin health, as well as tackling common cosmetic concerns.
What is a Skin Booster?
Injection Skin Booster treatments are non-surgical cosmetic treatments which target common ageing concerns such as lines and wrinkles, skin texture, skin laxity and loss of volume. Compared to other non-surgical treatments that are available, Skin Boosters also strengthen and improve the health of the skin, giving long-term natural results.
How long do Skin Boosters take to work?
Most Skin Boosters require an initial series of 2-3 treatments, usually spaced a few weeks apart. Depending on the treatment, results are usually noticeable within a few weeks of the first or second treatment. Appointments are then required between six months and two years after the initial treatment to maintain the results.
How long do Skin Boosters last?
The length of time that Skin Boosters last will depend on the exact treatment performed, but also various individual factors such as how long the treatment takes to metabolise, which varies for each patient. Most injection Skin Booster treatments last between 6 and 12 months, with some lasting for up to 2 years.
Do Skin Boosters work?
Skin Booster injections are an innovative and effective non-surgical treatment for many common concerns associated with early signs of ageing. They are often suited to patients who are new to injectable treatments or who wish to achieve a natural-looking result.
Are Skin Boosters safe?
It is important to remember that every cosmetic treatment has associated risks and complications. When performed by a qualified medical professional, injectable Skin Boosters are completely safe and typically have fewer risks when compared to other injectable treatments as they are designed to work with the natural components of the skin. Your consultant will discuss any risks or complications that may arise ahead of your treatment, and will ensure you understand how these would be addressed and how they may affect your injection Skin Booster treatment.
