What are Polynucleotides?

Polynucleotides are an injectable skin booster treatment which increase collagen and elastin production, resulting in smoother, firmer, more hydrated skin. Also known as a bio-stimulator, Polynucleotides are made up of physically flexible molecules that mirror human DNA's structure.

When injected, Polynucleotides are able to interact with the Fibroblast cells which produce collagen and maintain the structural integrity of the skin. This stimulates the natural production of collagen and elastin. Polynucleotide injections can also improve tissue regeneration, skin tone, and elasticity.

Polynucleotides can be used effectively in delicate areas such as under the eyes and around the neck, as well as being an alternative to treatments such as Dermal Lip Filler.

Words from our clients:

Benefits of Polynucleotide Treatments

Polynucleotide skin boosters are an innovative approach to skin rejuvenation and improving skin health.

Polynucleotide benefits include:

  • Improved skin quality – By stimulating natural collagen and elastin production the quality of the skin is improved, resulting in a more hydrated and firmer appearance
  • Enhanced facial balance – Dramatic weight loss and ageing can both cause the face to look unbalanced as skin becomes looser and stretches. Polynucleotide treatments can help to firm the skin and restore the proportions of the face.
  • Effective treatment in delicate areas – Polynucleotide injections are an effective treatment option for people who may not be suitable for Tear Trough Filler. As well as under the eyes, Polynucleotides can be used in areas such as the neck.
  • Minimal downtime – Unlike surgical procedures, following Polynucleotide treatment you will be able to return to your daily activities immediately. It is normal to experience some bruising and slight swelling however, this should subside within a few days.

Polynucleotides Consultants

We have invited a selection of the country's very best consultants to join us at the Cadogan Clinic so that you can be sure that whatever the nature of your treatment, you will be seeing one of the top practitioners in the country.

What to Expect from Polynucleotide Treatment

Polynucleotide treatment is initially carried out over 2-3 sessions, depending on your concerns. These appointments are usually spaced 2 weeks apart.

You will attend an in-person consultation at Cadogan Clinic to start your treatment plan. During this consultation, you will discuss your concerns and the most effective treatment options for you. If you are happy to proceed, your Polynucleotide treatment can start straight away.

Your consultant will discuss any potential risks and complications with you during your consultation. It is normal to experience some swelling and bruising in the areas that have been treated with Polynucleotides and this usually subsides within 10 days.

Most people start to notice results following their second Polynucleotides treatment. Appointments are needed roughly every 6 months to maintain optimum results.

Which Conditions Can Polynucleotides Treat?

Polynucleotides are a highly versatile injectable treatment, which can be used to address a number of conditions and concerns affecting many areas.

Fine Lines and Wrinkles occur across the face including around the eyes (known as Crow’s Feet) and around the nose and mouth – Marionette Lines, Nasolabial Folds and Smoker’s Lines.

These lines usually appear with age, resulting from a natural breakdown of collagen and elastin in the skin. Polynucleotides naturally stimulate the body’s production of these vital proteins to smooth the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

Dull Skin is a skin condition which can occur in anyone, regardless of age – however, it becomes more common as people get older, and is often seen in women who are going through menopause. Skin usually looks dull due to a lack of hydration in the skin, which maintains a smooth and bright complexion. Having a dull skin tone can also exacerbate other concerns such as fine lines and wrinkles or textured skin.

Polynucleotides work with Hyaluronic Acid, already found in the skin to increase hydration levels which improves the tone of the skin, resulting in a smooth and youthful appearance.

Dark Under-Eye Circles can occur for many reasons, and it is important to establish and understand the root cause of this concern to create the most effective treatment plan.

Tear Trough Filler isn’t a viable solution for everyone who is affected by Under-Eye Dark Circles and Polynucleotides eyes treatment can be an effective alternative. By stimulating collagen and elastin production, as well as strengthening the skin in this delicate area, Polynucleotides can smoothen and fill this area leaving a more youthful and open eye area.

Polynucleotides are an effective alternative to Dermal Filler and Anti-Ageing Injections for effectively treating common neck concerns such as lines and wrinkles (sometimes known as necklace lines).

The skin around the neck is thinner and more delicate than other areas of the body, so requires appropriate treatment. For individuals, looking for a non-surgical solution to their neck concerns, Polynucleotides are often recommended by surgeons and dermatologists.

Rosacea can be a debilitating skin condition and can be challenging to treat and manage. Although the exact causes of Rosacea are not understood, we do know that inflammation leads to the blood vessels in the skin widening, leading to a red and swollen appearance to the skin.

For some people, polynucleotides may be an effective treatment, as they can help reduce inflammation and hydrate the skin, tackling the uncomfortable dryness often associated with Rosacea. It is important to speak with your Dermatologist to ensure A Polynucleotide injection are an appropriate treatment for you, as Rosacea is a medical condition.

Hands are an area which can show signs of ageing prematurely to other areas of the body. This is because the hands are often exposed to the sun and may not be as well protected as the face.

Polynucleotides can be used to treat skin concerns such as pigmentation and age spots and improve the sunken appearance that can occur across the hands with age – as fat naturally breaks down. By treating inflammation and stimulating the production of collagen and elastin the hands will look smoother, with a more even skin tone and more youthful appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Polynucleotides treatments are an injectable skin booster treatment which stimulates collagen and elastin production, improving the tone, quality and texture of the skin. They are suited to patients who are concerned about the early signs of ageing and who wish to achieve natural looking results.

A polynucleotide is a chain of nucleotides, the building blocks which makes up DNA chains (two polynucleotides make up one unit of DNA). DNA is the molecule which carries genetic information within the cells, for the development and functioning of any living organism. Due to their bioavailable nature, in a Polynucleotides injection, they are able to interact with Fibroblast cells, which produce collagen and elastin, improving skin tone, texture, and elasticity.

Polynucleotides are fragmented DNA molecules, extracted from salmon. They work by interacting with our Fibroblast cells, which produce collagen and elastin, which are both structurally integral to the skin. Collagen and elastin production slows as we age, which can lead to signs of ageing such as fine lines and wrinkles or dull skin. Polynucelotide injection treatment encourage the production of collagen and elastin, firming and strengthening the skin, and targeting common signs of ageing.

Depending on your concerns, Polynucleotide treatment typically involves 2-3 inital treatments, spaced 2 weeks apart. After these initial Polyncucleotide skin booster treatments, most patients find they need maintenance appointments every 6 months to maintain their results.
